Bananas are one of my favorite fruits and I always have some at home. Even though they are undeniably high in sugar, we should not underestimate their health-giving anti-aging properties. Ripe bananas contain a high amount of fiber, including prebiotic inulin, which feeds our beneficial digestive bacteria. Bananas also provide our bodies with potassium, vitamin C and vitamin B6, which are all important for heart health. The ingredients from bananas also help kidney functions and eliminate fluid retention. I love bananas with greek yoghurt or in a smoothie. On of my favorites is this Banana – Peanut Butter Smoothie, give it a try before your next workout.
